But given some things will take a while to work properly, was hoping for any advice from folks who are using Spark with FastMail. I have the trial as of yesterday and will be migrating emails over to test all this stuff myself. I know about FastMail’s manual Spam folder option (add any spam messages to a custom folder that FastMail will learn from) which I will use, but how does this work with Spark’s Spam folder? Spam, I understand I’ll need to tweak spam filtering in the FastMail interface for at least a little while until it learns stuff. Regarding Snooze, I believe this is a Spark implementation and doesn’t rely on Google’s snooze service (but I’m not 100% sure) which should provide the same experience with FastMail.
Can anyone comment on what Spark’s search is like with FastMail? I’m finding the search (with Gmail) is pretty good, often only taking 3–10 seconds to bring up matching search results from 15 years ago (recent matching results come up almost instantly). I rarely use labels/folders and prefer to search to find emails.
Im finding the current Gmail + Spark experience great and hoping I can get the same with FastMail. I’ve been using Spark for many years and like the UI, but have been a bit ignorant of what features are Spark vs Gmail (for example, spam folder, snooze, and in-app search).
Like a lot of people, recent Gmail announcement has me looking for a paid alternative to email with my custom domain.
